This activity looks at the management of lipid disorders as a component of overall management of cardiovascular risk in general practice. Management includes both lifestyle /non pharmacologic as well as pharmacologic modalities.

By completing this learning activity, participants will be able to:

• Identify patients at high risk of cardiovascular disease
• Discuss the key management features of lipid disorders
• Utilise diagnostic tools to assess cardiovascular risk
• Indicate the appropriate target lipid levels based on patient risk
• Ensure patient safety in reducing cardiovascular risk using systems of recall and reminder
