Planning the vaccination encounter

This module focuses on the practice systems prior to vaccination including cold chain and catch up immunisation

Objectives:
At the completion of this module participants should be able to

  • Recall the key elements required to plan a vaccination encounter
  • State the key elements of maintaining the cold chain & identify the required procedures for vaccine management to ensure a viable vaccine is administered
  • Recall the steps involved in developing a catch up schedule for childhood and adult vaccination
  • Develop a catch up schedule for childhood and adult vaccination
  • Recall a system in place in your practice to ensure that vaccines to be administered have been transported and stored at the correct cold chain temperature
  • Review best practice for injection technique specifically for vaccination
