In this module you will review the most common manifestations of genital dermatology and genital pain.

The dermatology section includes both infestations and dermatoses. You will be introduced to the features of genital pain that can make it difficult to diagnose and some strategies for managing pain.

Objectives:
At the completion of this learning activity, the participant should be able to

• Recall the sites of infestation and the management of scabies and pubic lice
• Discuss the common genital dermatoses
• Recall the differential diagnoses for genital skin signs and symptoms
• Discuss genital neoplasia
• Recall the steps involved in taking a biopsy of genital skin for best patient care and getting the best sample for pathology
• Recall the anatomy and physiology of genital pain
• Indicate an appropriate management plan for a patient with genital pain (patient safety objective)
