This one hour online activity will follow the case of Daniel, a 58 year old bricklayer, who has noticed he is more unsteady and his voice is a bit hoarse.
He is concerned about falling and whether this is warning for a stroke.
The learner should achieve the following objectives:
- Making the diagnosis of Parkinson's disease early, to be aware of common misdiagnosis and the main tips in differentiating from other diagnosis
- The common pharmacological managements used including L-Dopa, Dopamine agonists and COMTI alone or in combination
- Managing non motor complications of Parkinson disease such as dementia
- Choosing a multidisciplinary approach in the management of Parkinson's disease
- Ensuring safety by monitoring a patients progress after initiating management
