Mental Health Update – Depression


This activity looks at the key diagnostic and management features for Depression as it commonly presents in general practice. The emphasis is particularly on assessment, care planning and review.

By completing this learning activity, participants will be able to:

  • State the key diagnostic features of Depression
  • Discuss the key management features of Depression
  • Recall the important co morbidities in Depression commonly encountered in general practice
  • Indicate a system to involve a team approach to mental health including a care plan and practice system of review
  • Ensure the early identification of serious at risk behaviour in patients with mental health issues
