Migraine
This education discusses the various forms of primary headache, with special emphasis on migraine. The symptomatology and diagnosis are discussed, the methods of differentiating migraine from other forms of primary headache are outlined and the various treatment modalities for migraine are set out in detail.
By completing this learning activity, participants will be able to:
- Assess patients presenting with a headache for the signs and symptoms of migraine.
- Discuss the factors which may contribute to the development of migraine.
- Describe the features of migrainous headaches.
- Indicate the management of migraine.
- Ensure patient safety my being aware of the warning signs of more sinister disease.
