The management of exacerbating factors and comorbidities to maintain quality of life is an important component of heart failure management. This module outlines ways to identify and control exacerbating factors and comorbidities that may affect HF, and explores the role of non-surgical devices and end-of-life care.

By completing this learning activity, participants will be able to:

  • Identify and minimise factors that may increase risk of heart failure exacerbations.
  • Manage common comorbidities in patients with heart failure.
  • Refer patients for non-surgical device treatment where appropriate.
  • Coordinate end-of-life care for patients with high risk of mortality.

This activity is sponsored by Novartis.
