Metastatic breast and prostate cancer can lead to bone complications in patients, potentially leading to skeletal related events (SREs). This education discusses the mechanisms behind bone metastases and explores the use of pharmacological therapies for treatment.

On completion of this education activity participants will be able to:

  • Recognise the morbidity of metastatic breast and bone cancers.
  • Diagnose bone metastases in patients, and understand the mechanisms behind their occurrence.
  • Understand the impact of skeletal-related events (SREs) and the role of bone-targeted agents in countering them.
  • Implement pharmacological management methods to control bone resorption and reduce the risk of SREs.

This program has been developed with an educational grant from Amgen.
