This webinar, presented by GP Dr Peter Eizenberg, Dr Joanne Eng-Frost (Cardiologist) and A/Prof Michael Woodward (Geriatrician), will help GPs and other primary healthcare providers to better understand the role of RSV vaccination in older adults with comorbidities in Australia. This includes the latest updates from the Australian Immunisation Handbook chapter on RSV vaccination, and implementation of these recommendations as part of a multidisciplinary primary care and specialist team to improve patient outcomes.

Dr Peter Eizenberg is a GP consulting at, and the former Director of, ‘Doctors of Ivanhoe’. Whilst maintaining his GP commitments, Dr Eizenberg is also a Principal Investigator with various vaccine research trials for vaccines including Influenza, RSV & Zoster. Dr Eizenberg has held a number of national immunisation committee & advisory group positions, including current membership on the NCIRS AusVaxSafety Advisory Group & the Immunisation Coalition SAC. He is also the past Chair of North East Valley Division of General Practice.
Dr Eng-Frost is passionate about reducing the impact of cardiovascular disease in women, and is especially enthusiastic about addressing cardiovascular risk in previously unrecognised vulnerable populations, including women with a history of rheumatologic conditions, chemotherapy, diabetes and pregnancy complications including pre-eclampsia and gestational diabetes. She also has a strong interest in managing chest pain and coronary artery disease. In addition to clinical work, Joanne is undertaking a PhD at Flinders University focused on her research interests in predicting and managing cardiogenic shock. She is also actively involved in medical student and junior doctor teaching and mentoring through her roles as Medical Education Registrar at Flinders Medical Centre, and Clinical Associate Lecturer with both Flinders University and University of Adelaide. She is also a member of the RACP Cardiology Curriculum Review Group.
Associate Professor Michael Woodward is Head of Dementia Research at Austin Health in Melbourne, Victoria. He is a specialist in geriatric medicine with a major interest in adult vaccination and also Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, wound management and the quality use of medications in older people. The Medical and Cognitive Research Unit that he established conducts trials into new vaccines and other new therapies for conditions such as dementia and influenza.
